Kamara Marsh was born and raised in Michigan. She grew up in Mason, Michigan....just south Lansing, Michigan's state capital. Her interest in both art and dance was prevalent growing up. She expressed this in variety of ways including her involvement in various mural projects around the capital area as well as involvem in a jazz repetoire dance group. She graduated from Mason High School in 1982 and went on to pursue both art and dance at Lansing Community College. Her artistic endeavors include t-shirt designs for two business that were sold nationwide. She also did a lot of side work as a portrait artist and animal illustrator. She graduated from LCC with an associates degree in Illustration in 1988. Throughout the years, she has always remained very connected to her church family and has been involved in a number of acivities including Sunday School teaching, singing, dancing, teaching and counseling for various ministries in the churches she has attended throughout the years. Kamara currently resides in East Lansing with her son, Ricky and their two lab mix dogs.

After a ten year break from school and the birth of her son Ricardo, she returned to college and received her bachelor's degree in Business: Management and Organizational Development from Spring Arbor University in 2000. At the same time, she developed her own professional clown business: A Clown For Every Occasion and supported her way through the rest of her college years performing at birthday parties and other events.
After suffering from a head injury, she became very interested in those who were in rehabilitation. Having a lifelong desire to help others improve their lives, she decided to return to school to pursue her master's degree in counseling. While completing her counseling internship in rehabilitation, she was introduced to the field of substance abuse. She received her master's degree in counseling in 2005. Currently, she is a substance abuse counseling and works with inmates in a local jail leading groups, individuals and conducting assessments.
